I am a visual artist working between the UK and Romania. From the very beginning of my journey in photography, I have been drawn to documentary work, which led me to study Press and Editorial Photography at Falmouth University. This background continues to influence much of my practice today. While my work is rooted in documentary approaches, I tend to describe myself more as a visual artist working with photography rather than strictly as a photographer.
My projects vary in form and method, but at their heart they explore storytelling, the human condition, and the ways these themes can be approached imaginatively. My work in Romania is politically engaged, reflecting my fascination with the country’s Communist past and the echoes of this period in the present. I am interested in presenting this fascination in inventive ways, aiming to tell stories that go beyond the surface and to uncover aspects of this period that are less known, at least from an outsider’s perspective.
When I am not in Romania, I am interested in transforming the mundane into something unexpected, revealing the hidden textures and patterns that lie beneath the surface. In doing so, even the most familiar subjects can become spaces of curiosity and subtle discovery.
Alongside my artistic practice, I work as a part-time lecturer and technician at Truro College, where I enjoy supporting students in their own creative journeys.
